Services for Candace Michelle Stephenson, 43, were Jan. 31, 2022, at Ackerman Baptist Church with burial at Weir Presbyterian Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 6, 1978, in Jackson. Miss Stephenson was the 1986 Easter Seals Poster Child, an artist at the TK Martin Center at Mississippi State, a substitute teacher for Choctaw County Schools and community volunteer. She died Jan. 27, 2022.
Survivors include her mother, Dannell Varner Irving; her father, James William “Steve” Stephenson; two brothers, Chris Stephenson and Ryan Irving; and her “bestie”-sister, Kenya Lee.
Memorials may be made to Ackerman Baptist Church Mission Friends.

Lucille Stinnett Whitten

Graveside services for Lucille Stinnett Whitten, 91, of Suwanee, Ga., were Jan. 28, 2022, at Weir Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Stephensport, Ky., to the late Clinton Hook and Minnie Lee Tate Stinnett. Mrs. Whitten was a retired librarian and member for many years at First Baptist Church of Chamblee, Ga., which later became Johns Creek Baptist Church. She died Jan. 21, 2022, at her residence.
Survivors include one son, Warren Allen Whitten; one sister, Audrey Reburn; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Helen Baber’s, 67, direct cremation was held on January 20. Mrs. Baber was born in Choctaw County to the late Mrs. Mamie Lue Curtis.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Mosley; and one son, Billy Baber.

Dennis Kincaid
Funeral services for Dennis Kincaid, 64, were held at 11 a.m., January 26 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. Carl Swanigan officiated. Burial followed in the Harrington cemetery.
Mr. Kincaid died January 20 at the University Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Kandrea Kincaid and Sheilla Taylor; 5 sisters, Oteria Davies, Lynette Coleman, Barzette McCoy, Majorie Jordan, and Darnell Paige; 2 brothers, Walter Kincaid and Calvin; 5 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Jannie Odene Mays, 82, were held at 2 p.m., January 29 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Dr. Benjamin Pittman officiated. Burial followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Mrs. Mays died January 21 at the Louisville Health Care Center.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Janice Faye Combest, Sandra Mays, and Sharon Mays; 5 sons, Michael Mays, Mark Mays, Stanley Mays, Stevenson Mays, and Willie Mays; 2 sisters, Dixie Wells and Joyce Ann Thompson; 4 brothers, Larry Mays, Randy Mays, Terry Mays, and Charles Mays; 14 Grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carr died January 24 at the Winston County Medical Center.

Johnny Will Jackson, Jr.
Funeral services for Johnny Will Jackson, Jr., 76, were held at 2 p.m., January 30 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Dr. Benjamin Pittman officiated. Burial followed in the Louisville Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson died a his home on January 26.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Kristy R. Haynes; his sisters, Shellye Cummings, Patricia Hickman, and Cassandra Nicholson; a special friend, Clytee Davis; 1 granddaughter, Markia Holmes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
