Mr. Renford "Steve" Stephenson, 83, retired diesel mechanic, died December 4, 2021 at his residence in Eupora, MS. Funeral Services were held 11:00AM Wednesday December 8, 2021 at Providence Baptist Church in Choctaw County, MS. Bro. Rob Faulk officiated. Pallbearers were; Mike Washam, Bailey Stephenson, John Douglas Stephenson, Ethan Stephenson, Joseph Ivy and Noah Hunt.
He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Choctaw County and was preceded in death by his parents; Eric and Ava Stephenson, his first wife; Sue Putnam Stephenson and a brother' Malcom Stephenson. Mr. Renford is survived by his wife; Fronie Bell Hays Hunt Stephenson, Eupora, MS, his son; John Allen (Julia Bailey) Stephenson, Eupora, MS, three step-daughters; Angela (Jeff) Bates, Tilton, MS, Rita (Craig) Lloyd, Texarkana, TX, and Karen Hunt, Ackerman, MS, three step-sons; Rayburn (Cindy) Hunt, Warren (Cynthia) Hunt and Derek Hunt all of Ackerman, MS, three sisters; Julia (Grady) Stephenson Hollis, Starkville, MS, Faye (Joe) Stephenson Ivy, Ackerman, MS and Peggy Stephenson Hodges, Ackerman, MS, one brother; Billy Marshall Stephenson, Ackerman, MS and three grandchildren; Bailey, John Douglas and Ethan Stephenson.
Renford enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching football and westerns. He loved his family and was a friend to many. He took great pride in his work as a diesel mechanic across the state of Louisiana and Mississippi for T. L. James Corporation for 38 years. He was a strong man and a very hard worker. He was known, among other things, for his storytelling, stubbornness loyal friendship and generosity.
