Mr. Jerry Nathan Molder, 77, retired owner and mechanic of J’s Mobility Unlimited in Flowood, MS died June 21, 2021 at his residence in Brandon, MS. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jerri Lynne Beaty Molder, originally of Texas; a daughter, Karen Sue Molder Haralson (Bobby), Brandon, MS; two step-daughters, Melissa Renee Edwards, Brandon, MS and Cherie Lynne Edwards Hargesheimer (Martin), Littleton, CO; two brothers, Dean Molder (Sue), Oregon and Ray Molder Florence, MS; one sister; Lois Molder Strickland, Florence, MS; two grandsons, Daniel Nathan Haralson (Amy), Brandon, MS and Ryan Haralson, Biloxi, MS; two great-grandsons, Carter and Regan, Brandon, MS; and his beloved companion – his orange cat, Tiger. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Fred, and Luna Molder; two brothers, Tony and Cecil Molder; and his beloved black labs, Champ, Max and Buck.
Jerry was in the Army for 3 years until 1965 and was stationed in Germany and then Army Reserves for 3 years. He was in 2d Battalion 33d Armored (Tigers) 3d Armored Division (Spearhead), and his specialty was tanks. He was given the designation of Sharpshooter with M-14 Rifle.
Jerry was a mechanic and could fix anything. He and his business partner and friend James Hunt started J&J Auto in the 1970s on Flowood Drive in Flowood, MS, and J's Mobility Unlimited in the 1990s at the same location. Jerry retired at the beginning of 2013, and moved with his wife Lynne, to family land in Choctaw County, MS. There was hard but rewarding work clearing a place for their home. He loved to tend the pecan trees his father had planted and was known for his garlic garden. He and his wife had recently moved back to Rankin County due to his cancer diagnosis and treatment. Because of his Christian faith in Jesus, Jerry wasn't afraid of death but knew Heaven would be his home where there is no more pain, disability, or sorrow.
A private family burial was held at Huntsville Church of Christ Cemetery in Montgomery County, MS on Saturday, June 26, 2021 and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date with his friend Missionary Rudy French leading in the celebration of Jerry’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials & donations be sent to Missionary Rudy French, 6033 East Antioch Rd., Springville, TN 38256. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of all arrangements. You may go online and sign our guest register or leave a message of condolence for the family at www.ofheupora.com.
