Mike Gary, aged 70, passed away quietly at his home on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in Eupora, Mississippi. He was the husband of Tanna Vance Gary and son of the late Lee Ella Moore Owens and Hollis Gary.
Mike was a lifetime resident of Mississippi. He attended Eupora High School and over three years of college at Mississippi State University. He was a retired farmer in Webster County and member of South Union Methodist Church but attended Eupora First United Methodist Church and Eupora First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and loved animals. In his spare time, he was an avid reader, but enjoyed gardening and anything farm related. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren teaching them all about gardening and farming.
He is survived by his wife, Tanna Vance Gary; two daughters, Christiana (Brian Farrar) Palmer of Starkville, Mississippi, and Morgan Gary (Steven “Beau”) Goodson of Big Creek, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Alex Palmer, Lily Kate Goodson, Maddi Beth Goodson, and Sawyer Beau Goodson; and one sister, Lydia Duke Hevener of Suffolk, Virginia.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Lee Ella Moore Owens and his father, James Hollis Gary; and one brother, William Van Gary.
His funeral service was Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Brother Willy Weddle officiated the services. Pallbearers were Reagan Gary, Clay Willingham, Rin Gary, Robbie Hubbard, John Vance, and Brian Farrar. Burial was at South Union Cemetery in Webster County.
Wise Reed Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
