Several Nanih Waiya football players were recently recognized with postseason awards.
Running back Rico Moore was named a second-team Class 2A All-state player as a kick returner by the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
Moore, a senior running back, was limited for the Warriors this season, playing in just five games where he rushed for 758 yards on 123 carries. He also had five catches for 29 yards.
Several Warriors were also recognized on the Region 5-2A football team.
Making the first team was Rico Moore, Ked Moore and Bentley King.
On the second team was Maddox Robertson and Hagan Halfacre while Tanner Courtney, Ashton Warren, Kendon Sanders and Eli Stanton were honorable mention selections.
