GCS continued to prove their dominance across TSCC play this week as they went 2-0, with an additional forfeit win over Victory Chrisitan of Columbus.
The first win of the week came over Fayette Christian (AL), as the Eagles dominated, winning 71-6. Bonner Brownlee led with 18 points, with Jacob Phillips scoring 14 himself. The Eagles led 22-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Eagles also dominated Fayette Christian 52-5.
The Lady Eagles had three double-digit scorers as Carley Peterson led with 14 points. Mia Brownlee added 12 points and Aspen Harris scored 10 while adding seven boards.
On Friday both GCS faced a common foe, Amory Chrisitan, who both teams beat in the conference championship last season.
The Eagles showed they can still dominate the conference, defeating Amory 72-45. Brownlee lead the way with 30 points, with Phillips adding 20. The Eagles shot 77% from two point land while shooting 40% from three point land. “ Friday was a big conference win for us”, said head coach Jason Morgan, “We haven’t seen Amory Christian since last year and really wanted to send the message that we are the team to beat in our conference this season.
The Lady Eagles defeated Amory 57-14. Peterson led with 21 points and also secured seven boards.Grace Marie Holman dominated with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
