As the first part of the schedule as well as 2021 comes to a close, Eupora was back on the court last week looking for a win as they hosted French Camp Academy.
The Lady Eagles have fallen on a bit of a losing streak the last couple of weeks and it began against the Lady Panthers last month in a 70-38 blowout loss. This time Eupora made up a lot more ground but still came up short in a 52-43 affair. That loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 2-9 this season ahead of Class 2A, Region 2 play beginning as the calendar turns over to the new year at Calhoun City on January 4.
There were no details given to the Webster Progress on the game regarding the top scorers in the contest against the Panthers.
In boys action, Eupora was in its best positions to win a game as it has been all year. The Eagles entered the contest without a victory so far this year and only one game has been within single digits to this point.
FCA was still able to come out on top despite a strong effort from the Eagles as the Panthers finished off a 59-52 ball game in the fourth quarter. Parish Daniels led the way with 21 points, Tre Johnson had 10 points and Rett Embry had seven.
The loss dropped Eupora to 0-9 on the year and they, too, will be starting Region 2 play on January 4 at Calhoun City.
