With two teams cancelling important late season games against the GCS Eagles, Coach Jason Morgan had to improvise in order to keep the Eagles in game shape for the conference tournament at GCS this weekend.
The Eagles faced off in exhibition match against the GCS Alumni.
Alumni included former Eagles such as Wes Agnew and Micah Ballard, as well as Alex Taylor, Zack Boyles, Max Hudson, and many others.
The current Eagles beat the Alumni 65-43. The only organized game the Eagles played was on Saturday as they defeated Fayette Christian 60-13.
The Eagles dominated all game leading 35-3 at halftime. The Eagles had a balanced scoring attack as Bonner Brownlee, Jacob Phillips, Grayson Skelton, and Miles Brownlee all scored double digits.
"I never understand why people schedule games and then cancel them for no reason," said Coach Morgan. "Due to two canceled games, we had to get very creative this week to stay sharp and stay in game shape as the playoffs approach. Fortunately, we were able to do that, and it was another good week for us."
The Eagles finished with a 34-2 record, while going 12-0 in conference play. The Eagles now head into the conference tournament this weekend to face Heritage Christian Academy at 4pm on Friday. Both the boys and girls tournaments will be held at GCS.
