This year at the Maben Christmas Parade, which was the night of Dec. 3, the weather was not unbearably cold as it has been many times in the past.
One place was warm because of its heat and the warm welcome by the members of Grace Covenant Church.
Grace Covenant Church, located on the corner of Turner Street and Second Avenue, has been open only for a short time. The church had a float in the parade and afterwards had a soup supper for all who would come.
As you enter the door, tables joined end to end were filled with all kinds of delicious soups, cornbread and drinks. Over 100 people visited and had supper.
The next day, a Sunday, regular worship services were held at the church. Three people were baptized, communion was served and a lunch was held.
This church has many members from different areas near Maben. It is really growing, as it is preaching the word and always gives a warm welcome to any visitor.
We are happy to see Grace Covenant Church in the community and wish it well.
