East Webster Elementary School Principal Jennifer Carver introduced Connor Kolb as the Webster County Board of Education Student of the Month for September.
In other business, the board approved a recommendation to hire Beth Hood and Kathy Barnett as substitute teachers effective Sept. 13.
After some discussion, the board approved a memorandum of agreement with The Excellence Group to provide temporary professional services on a consultant basis from Aug. 24-Dec. 31 subject to early termination if necessary.
The board approved a request for a fundraiser from East Webster High School and Eupora High School cross-country. The request was discussed by the board and the board attorney in terms of liability and insurance coverage.
