The holiday season is upon us in Winston County, and events around the county promise not to disappoint! Both Louisville and Noxapater are offering many fun and exciting events from now until the new year, including parades, a Christmas Tour of Homes, caroling, and lots of lovely lights in Louisville and Noxapater. Louisville will host its annual parade on December 9, which is a slight change from tradition. This year the parade will be held on the second Monday in December rather than the first Monday. The time is at 6 PM, and the theme of the parade is ìParade of Lights.î Entry forms may be obtained at the Winston County Chamber of Commerce office on Park Street. The City of Louisville has already hosted many holiday events, including the Jingle Bell Jubilee, where the decorated windows of participating businesses were revealed. The Jingle Bell Market will take place in the Louisville Dome on December 7 beginning at 8 AM. Main Street businesses will be open early Friday for local Black Friday shopping with sales running through the weekend. Locals are encouraged to participate in Shop Small Saturday, which the is the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The Town of Noxapater is also hosting many holiday activities. In addition to the town parade, with the theme ìA Vintage Christmas,î there will be a Christmas Tour of Homes, Make it Glow at the Molly Estes and J.W. Young Park, and a Community Caroling event. The Town of Noxapater Christmas parade will take place on Saturday, December 7 at 6 PM. Miss Hospitality Mississippi Chloe Weeks will be the Grand Marshal for the parade event. The Christmas Tour of Homes takes place on December 1 and will feature the homes of Sid and Sonja Massey, TJ and Mary Margaret Robbins, and Joseph and Hanna McCain. The tour begins at 1:00 PM and lasts until 4 PM. Tickets may be purchased at the 4- Way Hardware Store, All Creatures Vet Services, and Pennys in Wells or you may purchase them at the event itself. The Molly Estes and JW Young Park is currently decorated for the Make it Glow event sponsored by the Noxapater Community Chamber Alliance. Everyone is invited to enjoy the lights and to tour the trail around the park. The official lighting is expected to be Thanksgiving night. The Community Caroling event will take place after the parade on December 7. Merry Market will also take place on December 7. Everyone is encouraged to shop locally for this event! Many of the businesses will be open late to accommodate shoppers.
