The Mississippi Department of Education recently released its testing data for the 2023-2024 school year. The accountability grade for the district is still embargoed for media and the public.
The accountability score will include Graduation and Dropout rates, MAAP scores, 3rd grade reading gate, ACT scores, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten STAR tests, and absenteeism. It will also include points for students who are in the bottom 25 percent, meaning students who scored either a Level 1 or a Level 2 but have shown growth.
The Louisville Municipal School District saw some very bright spots.
On the third grade ELA tests, LMSD tested 159 students and received 366.7 points. 7.5 percent scored on a Level 1, 13.8 percent scored on a Level 2, 18.2 percent scored on a Level 3, 41.5 percent scored on a Level 4 and 18.9 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the fourth grade ELA tests, LMSD tested 155 students and received 466.8 points. 5.2 percent scored on a Level 1, 11 percent scored on a Level 2, 31 percent scored on a Level 3, 34.2 percent scored on a Level 4, and 18.7 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the fifth grade ELA tests, LMSD tested 146 students and received 561 points. 7.5 percent scored on a Level 1, 14.4 percent scored on a Level 2, 37.7 percent scored on a Level 3, 34.2. percent scored on a Level 4 and 6.2 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the sixth grade ELA tests, LMSD tested 196 students and received 655.2 points. 18.4 percent scored on a Level 1, 25.5 percent scored on a Level 2, 22.4 percent scored on a Level 3, 18.4 percent scored on a Level 4 and 15.3 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the seventh grade ELA tests, LMSD tested 174 students and received 758.3 points. 8.6 percent scored on a Level 1, 8.6 percent of students scored on a Level 2, 23.6 percent of students scored on a Level 3, 31.6 percent of students scored on a Level 3, 20.1 percent scored on a Level 4, and 16.1 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the eighth grade ELA tests, LMSD tested 198 students and received 856.6 points. 12.1 percent scored on a Level 1, 22.7 percent scored on a Level 2, 35.4 percent scored on a Level 3, 22.7 percent scored on a Level 4, and 7.1 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the English II test, LMSD tested 199 students and received 1059.7 points. 8 percent scored on a Level 1, 22.6 percent scored on a Level 2, 33.2 percent scored on a Level 3, 23.1 percent scored on a Level 4, 13.1 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the third grade Math tests, LMSD tested 159 students and received 367.6 points. 5.7 percent scored on a Level 1, 11.3 percent scored on a Level 2, 20.8 percent scored on a Level 3, 39 percent scored on a Level 4 and 23.3 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the fourth grade Math tests, LMSD tested 155 students and received 463.8 points. 7.1 percent scored on a Level 1, 16.8 percent scored on a Level 2, 27.1 percent of students scored on a Level 3, 33.5 percent of students scored on a Level 4 and 15.5 percent of students scored on a Level 5.
On the fifth grade Math tests, LMSD tested 146 students and received 565.7 points. None of the students scored on a Level 1, 13 percent scored on a Level 2, 36.3 percent scored on a Level 3, 30.1 percent scored on a Level 4 and 20.5 percent scored a Level 5.
On the sixth grade Math tests, LMSD tested 195 students and received 664.6 points, 1.5 percent scored on a level 1, 20.5 percent scored on a Level 2, 29.2 percent scored on a Level 3, 34.9 percent scored on a Level 4 and 13.8 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the seventh grade Math tests, LMSD tested 174 students and received 764.9 points, 0.6 percent of students scored a Level 1, 19.5 percent scored a Level 2, 31.6. percent scored on a Level 3, 41.4 percent scored on a Level 4, and 6.9 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the eighth grade Math tests, LMSD tested 198 students and received 864.9 points. 5.1 percent scored on a Level 1, 13.1 percent scored on a Level 2, 32.8 percent scored on a Level 3, 38.9 percent scored on a Level 4, and 10.1 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the Algebra I test, LMSD tested 194 students and received 1075.9 points. None scored on a Level 1, 3.6 percent scored on a Level 2, 19.1 percent scored on a Level 3, 53.1 percent scored on a Level 4 and 24.2 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the fifth grade science test, LMSD tested 146 students and received 578 points. 2.1 percent scored on a Level 1, 7.5 percent scored on a Level 2, 17.1 percent scored on a Level 3, 40.4 percent scored on a Level 4, 31.8 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the eighth grade science test, LMSD tested 198 students and received 862.2 points. 13.1 percent scored on a Level 1, 15.7 percent scored on a Level 2, 26.8 percent scored on a Level 3, 33.8 percent scored on a Level 4 and 10.6 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the Biology test, LMSD tested 236 and received 1064.7 points. 16.5 percent scored on a Level 1, 11 percent scored on a Level 2, 24.2 percent scored on a Level 3, 33.5 percent scored on a Level 4 and 14.8 percent scored on a Level 5.
On the US History test, LMSD tested 178 and received 1076.2 points. 0.6 percent scored on a Level 1, 4.5. percent scored on a Level 2, 21.9 percent scored on a Level 3, 50.6 percent scored on a Level 4, and 22.5 percent scored on a Level 5.
