At their most recent board meeting, the Louisville Municipal School District recognized stellar students. The school district proudly shared the names of the top students and the STAR teachers from each school in the district. STAR students, among their classmates, scored the highest on the ACT. They then choose a STAR teacher.
Louisville High School’s Valedictorian is Kristin Jernigan; the Salutatorian is T’mya Hampton. Jernigan is also the school’s STAR student. She chose Mary Adams as her STAR teacher.
Noxapater’s Valedictorian is Laney Boatner; Kelli Thomas is the Salutatorian.
At Nanih Waiya, the Valedictorian is Jaylee Stokes; Melanig Ugalde is the Salutatorian. Dallas Dixon is the STAR student; Dixon then chose Erin Stokes as NW’s STAR teacher.
In other business, the school board:
•Approved the March 21, 2023, regular meeting minutes.
•Approved multiple resignations of school personnel as well as recommendations for new hires throughout the district. These positions will take effect during the 2023 – 2024 school year.
•Approved multiple recommendations for substitute school personnel.
•Approved recommended staff for the HERO summer program, 2023.
•Approved staff for the summer feeding program.
•Approved a bus turnaround on highway 393.
•Approved the claims docket #335494 - #335729 and all March 2023 Activity fund checks.
•Approved the financial statements and bank balances for March 2023.
The meeting was then adjourned upon announcement of the next LMSD board meeting, which will be held on May 9, 2023.
