The Louisville Municipal School District held its monthly school board meeting on Tuesday, October 8. After the meeting was opened by Board President Steele, the board approved the minutes of the meeting held on September 10.
The board then moved on to the consent agenda, which included the removal of fixed assets per board policy, the approval of one staff resignation and the approval of multiple staff recommendations.
Dr. David Luke shared the accountability testing results with the board. Louisville as a district earned a “B” rating. Luke talked about things the district is doing to achieve higher ratings both at individual schools in the district and the overall rating.
A representative from the Mississippi Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Sonja Cooper, was also on hand to present the board with information about services that MDRS could provide to students in Winston County. The program is known as “Transition and Youth Career Services,” which may include job exploration counseling and workplace readiness training.
The Louisville Municipal School District meets on the second Tuesday of each month; the next scheduled board meeting is November 12, 2024 at the district’s Central Office at 5:30 pm.
