The Louisville Wildcats rounded out their Class 4A, Region 4schedule with two losses to the Choctaw Central Warriors.
In game one of the two-game set, the Warriors and Wildcats had a battle early but LHS couldn’t sustain a first inning answer. After giving up four runs in the opening frame, the Wildcats came back with a score of their own to tie it up at 4-4.
CCHS would continue to score every inning the rest of the way why holding the Wildcats at bay and that lead continued to get pushed out. It was 12-4 in the fifth inning and the Warriors would put the game away for good in the seventh with eight runs in the frame.
Six errors were a big reason that the game got out of hand for LHS. The Wildcats were out hit 14-7. Isaiah Hardin had a big day at the plate going 4-for-5 and Caleb Hughes had two hits but the Wildcats had just one hit from the rest of the lineup.
In game two of the series the game was much more competitive but again went the way of the Warriors in a 12-3 ball game. There were no errors for the Wildcats and they were out hit just 12-9 but CCHS came through with the big hits in a five-inning game.
Jace Hudspeth and Hughes went 2-for-3.
After the losses to the Warriors, the Wildcats fell to 1-16on the season and were 1-9 in Region 4 play. The team was scheduled to close out the regular season by playing the Winona Tigers at home on Tuesday night.
