(April 22) Wow! It’s Sunday again; cloudy and rain predicted. The wind is gently blowing the budding pecan tree I can see through the south window — yes!
I still do a few things besides look through my window. I know it sounds like that’s all I do. I try to keep these old bones moving as much as possible, but sometimes I am lazy and just want to sit in the recliner with my heating pad as my closest companion. I had a day like that day before yesterday and it helped. Yesterday I felt a lot better.
Isn’t it wonderful that spring is finally here?
Our memorial is Sunday. There have been many changes since the last one, but life goes on and we learn to deal with whatever time brings. Two things that we cannot change are time and the weather. They are both in the hands of the master, whose precious name is God our Father if we know him. I pray you do.
I read something this morning that made me do much thinking. Two porcupines living in Alaska desired to get warm and drew close to each other. As they did, they needled one another. It hurt so much they pulled apart, but when they did they got cold again. So, they drew close once more and hurt each other as before. Their predicament — they were either cold or hurting.
This reminds me of old age, arthritis and our homes. It’s sometimes hard to get a healthy harmonious balance and keep things the way they should be, but we keep on trying and believing — love4 never fails.
Thanks to a dear lady who wrote me this week and let me know she enjoyed my writing. It’s these few who inspire me to keep on trying to write.
Until next time keep the faith — keep on believing and always know who is in charge. It is not we ourselves but a higher power than us.
My verse today comes from 2 Peter 1:3 —“His divine power has given us everything. We need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
