Rambling with Mrs. Arlene
Praise the Lord everyone and a very Happy New Year to you all. I hope and pray this next year will be the best year you’ve ever had both physically and financially. Most of all I pray that it will be the best year you’ve ever had spiritually. God loves all of us and he wants us to turn our attention to him and put him first in our lives.
I don’t know about you, but so many times I’ve said I was going to read my Bible from Genesis to Revelation in one year. But once again, I didn’t make it. It seems like I get up in the mornings and God is on my mind all day and I pray off and on all day. But the day passes by and I haven't studied. Some days I don’t get to read. I’m at home Monday through Saturday babysitting. The children use up my time in a hurry. They are a handful, but my husband and I love every minute of it. It gives us a reason to get up.
One way to look at time is by saying, “this is a New Year and we’re blessed to still be up and moving.” But when we leave God out of our every day, we still want God to bless us. In many ways, he does still bless us. But what about how we make God feel? I can’t imagine how it hurts him. Think about how we would feel if our children did us the way we do our heavenly father. I would feel left out. Like they say, what goes around comes around. What i’m trying to say is, if we really love our Lord and savior Jesus Christ like we should, we will start making time every day to spend with him by reading his word and praying for ourselves and others.
Let me encourage you all that we should make our mind up that we will be different this year. Let’s spend more time with God in prayer. Let’s reach out to others and try to tell them as much as we can that there really is a true and living God who cares about all our struggles. Get your Bible out and read and study. Hold on to the things you read and store them in your mind and heart, because we may not always have our Bibles.
Well I’ve got to go. Call me if you need encouraging, prayer, or if I can help you somehow. Remember God loves you and I do too. I truly want to do what God wants me to. Take care. Have a good week. Call me at 662-724-4691 or write me at 40 West Alice Street, Noxapater, MS 39346. See you next week Lord willing.
