Black and Police About Innocent Black & Innocent Police President, I think not what I see; can you wonder anymore? The pain of the world is in an uproar for all to see. Democrats and Republicans, can you see what the world would be because the brutalities of men have come upon the hands of thee to change the world? Pastors, you must take a stand in fasting and praying until the Black & Police brutality stops. Can you not see that the innocent lives need to be in our prayer each moment? Senators and Congressmen, why wait on a word hoping that the bloodshed would stop. Can you think to help to enlighten thee? Wife and husbands, can you see that the sight of your loved ones as they go out to protect thee? Mothers and fathers observing and wondering that their burden of the night would stop as they enter a grief-stricken period of total disbelief; uphold and uplift your burdened heart from thee. The hatred has been heard all around the world. Black and Police, my heart is with thee as you are gun down by some without a care as if it's a plea. War and rumors of war have come upon thee by the shocking brutality. The nation is on edge, rallying, not knowing what will come of thee. The shoots to the Black and Police officers as if they are alike. Our hearts are warm with fear as we protest peacefully into the night. You are ambushing Black and Police as if all are bad. Beneath their hearts are innocent Black and Police fall. The blood cries beneath the ground as we weep for the innocent lost soul in peace. That somehow was shot by the ones who we look up to only to be fatally wounded by the hands of them for only a plea. Black and Police poem by Mississippi Poet Linda Kay Chandler Rambling Praise the Lord everyone. I thank my God for always being there for me. He’s an on time God, and he cares for his children. His word promises us that he will never leave us or forsake us if you live a holy life, treat others the way you want to be treated, and live for him with our whole heart, mind, and strength. What else can we ask of God? He will always be there for us. All he asks is for us to live the way his word tells us. There is nothing I like better than going to church on Sunday morning and night and singing and worshipping my God. Then on Wednesday night we have Bible study, our pastor, Bro. Agnew, does a fantastic job teaching. God really blesses our church. So many people that talk to me ask me how I make it since I’m in a wheelchair. They say you babysit all those children and take care of Mr. Joe and your home. I tell them the truth. It’s not always easy. But, when I was a child at six years old, I came down with Polio. It messed my left leg really bad. It is crooked from the knee down. My knee would pop and give away and down I’d go. I can still hear my dad say, “child when you fall down, you have to get up and try again. Winners never quit and quitters never win.” So that’s how I live my life to this day. I sweep and mop and clean my own house, do my laundry and all my cooking, babysit my kids, and it’s not because of anything I did. It’s because I had two parents who were smart enough to know I’d have to be strong willed to make it. But, most of all, I was introduced to a God who has had his hand on me for almost 75 years. In my early 20s, I gave my life to him. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. To all my readers, let me say this. If you don’t know God, call me and let’s talk about it. I love and appreciate you all. I’ve got to go and cook Joe Barrett some supper. Call me at 662-803-4690 or write me at 40 West Alice Street, Noxapater, MS 39346. The Lord willing I’ll be back next week. Stay safe. May God bless each and everyone. Arlene Barrett George Floyd Blood Cried from the Ground for Justice God is tired of sin. When will justice win? When will racism end? Because of the color of our skin, black? It was enslaved by the name given to us to be triggered by guilt that lingers inside of us. Why do we hurt so badly from the pain of those who engrave our soul with doubt of who we are? What we supposed to be? Where have we come from? Are we from the same planet of the people who affect our souls? We are all from the same creator. Only the light floats within us to be great of who we are. Greater than the cause of violence that is upon our necks. Greater than murdering George Floyd to see him take his last breath while he passed into another world, Would we not know that the wrath of God would come for justice? Death caught hold of his soul for eight minutes and forty-two seconds. Grievous attacks on our destiny lie within us without a cause. Do we fight for a sign of relief only to be taken for granted because of the color of us, black? When will our soul stop crying from the blood of the earth? Have we lost enough death toll? When will we see that racism hurts all, not just black? God ordained George Floyd on this earth for a time to change the world about racism. The blood of George Floyd cried from the ground just as Abel blood cried from the ground in Genesis 4:10 to be heard by the Holy Father. The blood of the resurrected saints will be uncovered.
