Rambling with Mrs. Arlene
Praise the Lord everyone. What a beautiful day for Father’s Day. If your dad is still alive, you are blessed. My dad fell dead with a massive heart attack at the age of 45. My how I’ve missed him and still do. I hope all you father’s had a wonderful day. Joe has because he is on the couch sound asleep. He’s having a tough time here lately. He can hardly get around. Please remember him in prayer. I sure appreciate it.
God is so good. He cares about all of his children. He wants what is best for us. We live in a fast paced world. Everyone is so busy. But, did you know you can be too busy? Take me for an example. I’m totally in a wheelchair but I still have a daycare where I keep children. This is a large responsibility. I cook, clean, change diapers, and rock babies to sleep. I keep a check on the outside children. I take care of my husband and my home. So you see, I’m busy. By the time, I do all of this and more, I’m give out. Guess what God revealed to me a couple of weeks ago? For almost a year, I’ve been too busy for God. Oh I still go to church. I worship and pray. I help others when I can, but I haven’t been working one on one with my Lord and savior. When I tried to pray at night, I go to sleep. When I wake up, the day starts again. It’s the same old thing. I’ve neglected my Bible reading, neglected visiting the sick, and neglected my prayer life. You see, the Devil is our enemy. He doesn’t care how much we go to church, as long as we don’t get too involved. He will put every hindrance he can out in front of us to keep us so buy and our minds off the things of God.
I feel so ashamed. God has been so good to my family and me. I know I’ve let him down, but I’m working on pulling myself back up and putting the things of God first. Did you know, I almost started folding clothes instead of writing this article so Emerald could type it and get it in the paper. It’s been two weeks since it was in there.
God loves us but he’s not going to push himself on us. He leaves our salvation up to us. But he has sent many good preachers and pastors to preach the word and tell us about the things of God and how much he loves us. So if you’re staying so busy with everyday things of life that you’re neglecting one on one prayer time with God, then cut it out. Make time for God. Pray and talk to him. Read your Bible and let his word talk to you daily. I love you guys. I hope this helps you. Call me at 662-724-4691 or write at 40 West Alice Street, Noxapater, MS 39346 if I can help you or pray for you. See you next week Lord willing.
