Taking on Animal Abuse one step at a time
Animal abuse is a serous problem all around the world. Every day an animal is beaten and killed by the hands of human kind. We need to stop this to protect our animals. We are taking for granted the beautiful animals God put on this earth. If we don't act now a lot of animals we all know and love could be completely wiped out. People are beating and killing dogs as they grow up because they only wanted them as puppies. Cats are killed just for fun! Even if you do hunt or shoot, before you go killing an innocent animal think about this: you are taking an innocent life. You are killing a living breathing creature. Maybe you are just going deer hunting or fishing and that can be understood. But killing or hurting your pet or somebody else's can not only hurt the animal but think of all the owners or all the animal lovers around you. People are trying their best to stop this. And even though I may be one tiny voice in a huge world of over achiever doing everything in their power to stop animal abuse like staging protest or making movements. Since I'm still a kid I am doing everything I can to help save our animals, which in this case, is getting others involved. So let's work together to save these beautiful creatures we were given the right to have.

MML and Louisville
The CITY OF LOUISVILLE is proud to join the Mississippi Municipal League and its 291 member municipalities across the State of Mississippi in celebration of Municipal Government Week, January 20 – 26, 2020.
City government is, without question, the government closest to the people. At a time when people nationwide seem to have less faith in their government, we in municipal government want to be sure the people here at home are aware of the critical services we provide.
Over 50% of Mississippi citizens live in a city, town, or village. In addition, thousands more rely on cities for places of employment, professional services and retail trade centers. These citizens look to us to provide important services such as police and fire protection, garbage pick-up, street and sidewalk maintenance, water and sewer service, parks and recreational services, and much more.
It is a constant challenge for The City of Louisville to provide such services within our budget and in the face of requirements imposed on us by other levels of government. During the current legislative session, the City of Louisville will join municipalities across the state in asking the Mississippi Legislature to refrain from passing any laws that preempt local authority. Locally elected officials, in both large and small towns, are best positioned to identify the needs and desires of their own citizens. Furthermore, the members of the Mississippi Municipal League will strongly oppose any legislation that creates an unfunded mandate on cities and towns. Unfunded mandates are effectively tax increases handed down by the legislature on local citizens and property owners. They may be unintentional when a bill is originally passed, but often they end up forcing counties or cities to raise taxes to finance the policy. The City of Louisville will join the MML in fighting local preemptions and unfunded mandates to protect our current municipal revenue streams and keep local property taxes level.
Even in challenging times, I believe that our officials and employees are doing a great job in meeting the needs of our citizens. I am proud of our city’s record and look forward to the opportunity to showcase our services during Municipal Government Week. For a list of activities planned, please visit our website at cityoflouisvillems.com, like our official Facebook page or call my office at 662-773-9201.
Sincerely,
Mayor Will Hill

Praise the Lord everyone. I hope everyone is well and the New Year is going good for you. God has truly been good to all of us. When I look at the news, I see all of this storm damage, I can’t help but thank our God for turning them away from us, our family members, children, grandchildren, and church family. You hear about kidnapping and drive by shootings, but so far God has protected us all.
You think about this, bad things happen to good Christian people who go regular people and good people who don’t ever go to church. But the good things still always outweigh the bad things. I don’t like to call anyone bad, but the news shows people who don’t seem to care about themselves or their families. If I or any of my siblings had killed or kidnapped somebody or broke into somewhere or stole something or anything, I just can’t imagine the look that would be on my mother’s and father’s faces when they found out. It’s come to a time when we need to think about someone other than ourselves.
The thing that scares me is the way I have let down on praying to God myself and not asking for nothing, just bowing before him and thanking him for all the things he has done for us. When you’re praying and you feel the spirit of God coming down all over you and then it’s just you and God, as you begin to speak in tongues, it’s like you’re lifted up into another world. It’s a world of peace and joy and fellowship. God is so amazing. He’s giving everyone right now a chance to get in church and let him fill them with the Holy Ghost. It is real and God is coming soon.
I know a lot of people don’t understand it and therefore they are afraid to go where they teach and believe in the Holy Ghost. I promise you this, there’s nothing to be afraid of. Call me and we’ll talk about it. God is so good to those he loves and that means everybody, but some people just won’t let God into their lives.
I beg you from the bottom of my heart, give God a chance if you don’t know him and the power of the Holy Ghost. It doesn’t matter what denomination you are. You can still have the Holy Ghost and serve God. It brings so much joy to your life. You very quickly get that feeling that you will never be alone again.
Well I go for now. I hope God will bless you all greatly. I’m going to pray that the words God has given me will stick with you all and you won’t be able to forget them. We would be glad to have anybody that wants to come and visit. Everyone is welcome. Visit our church. It’s at the corner of Red Street and McCully Ave., Louisville, MS. God loves everyone and everyone is welcome at our church. Call me at 662-724-4691 or write me at 40 West Alice Street, Noxapater, MS 39346. I’ll be back next week the Lord willing.
God bless you all with love and prayers,
Arlene Barret.
