Rambling with Arlene
Praise the Lord everyone. I pray that you are all well and that you’ve had a wonderful year so far. Remember you can have good days and bad days, but no matter what happens, just keep your eyes on Jesus and let him lead you through it. He said in his word that he’s as close as the mention of his name. So call out to him for guidance and he will lead you through. God is faithful and will never leave nor forsake you. You may walk away and turn from God and go back into the world, but God will still love you and will always hope you will repent and come back into the safety of his grace and love.
I’ve had some busy days since the last paper. I’ve been taking care of children and packing up Christmas stuff. I’m cleaning out everything out of my house that I don’t want to keep and I’m going to donate it to the needy. How many know that doing things like that is working for the Lord? I feel like when people that can help does this, it makes God so happy. He wants us to reach out a helping hand to others and be a blessing.
I have watched people over the years who are Christians and go to church every Sunday morning, but hardly ever on Sunday nights for Bible study. Let me ask you this, when whoever it is that cooks your food hollers the food is ready, do you go and eat every time? Maybe you just miss two or three meals? If you take the time to count it up, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve missed more church services than you’ve missed your three meals a day.
When we make God a promise, he expects us to keep it. It’s not always easy but the pay is much better. Sometimes I hear people who are church going christians and when you’re around them it seems like they can’t make a full sentence without curse words. What kind of example are you setting for people around you who may be thinking about coming to your church? Not to mention what you’re teaching your children. The example you set is instilled in them when they are small and follows them through their youth and right on in to adult life. It’s time we realize what we are doing and where our responsibility lies. Just think about it.
Well I’ve got to close. I hope you all have a blessed week. We can all make it if we tow the mark. God is good and his mercy endures forever. Call me at 662-724-4691 or write me at 40 West Alice Street, Noxapater, MS 39346.
