FROM YOUR NAACP, Choctaw County, Branch #5631. “Bless those who persecute you: Bless and curse not.” (Rom 12:14) We are the NAACP. We are Ackerman, Weir, and French Camp. We are Choctaw County. We are the United States of America. This article is for hope and prayers that we can stand and walk together as one during these troubling times of this country. We need to come together for peace and unity of all American people. Times have changed but some things still remain the same and we must find a way to keep change and hope alive. The NAACP is an organization that stands for equal justice for all American people. Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr, said he had a dream that one day we would not be judged by the color of our skin but by the content of our character. We should not wait until destruction comes such as fires, tornadoes, floods, and racial profiling to join together as one nation under God. All lives matter in this country that we live in, and may God continue to bless America. Over the last year black people have been killed due to mistaken identity, going to the wrong address, being in the wrong neighborhood, and fear of life being threatened by other races. No matter if there is a witness or if the incident is recorded on cellphone, someone is killed and nothing can bring them back. These things are being repeated over and over again in our country and we need to stand together as one. We need to march together as one in peace and harmony. #GEORGE FLOYD #BRIANNA TAYLOR #AHMAUD ARBERY #ALTON STERLING #TRAYVON MARTIN # FREDDIE GRAY Unite with us.
