I have thought about doing a column each week where I basically rant like a cantankerous old man but I know my wife rarely enjoys my rants that those columns maybe poorly received by all.
So, I thought about the opposite of that and decided a column about gratitude each week would be good yet I still want to rant so I will be trying to do a gratitude and grievance column each week.
Gratitude : Teacher’s edition
Gratitude:Having spent 16 years in some form or school or another I like most people have a deep appreciation for all the great teachers out in the world.
Reading was always my favorite part of school until I took creative writing under Mrs. Edwards. She introduced her students to some of the best writers in the world and challenged everyone to write well. I struggled st the time with it but have come to appreciate that class and teachers later in life.
Grievance: The bill in the legislature to give teachers a pay raise appears to be a little paltry and meant more self-serving reelection talk than a real aim to move teacher pay to the point to help alleviate teacher shortages and teacher burnout.
Next week look forward to column on social media.
