Man alleges abuse by sheriff candidate
Prayers go out to the Nichols family, who recently lost their loved one at the hands of the police. In Memphis, the police beat and killed the Nichols family's son. With the Memphis case and the local election for Sheriff going on, I felt the need to share my story.
The things that happened to me could happen to anyone. Something has to be done about these dirty cops. If it can happen to me, then the chances are I am not the only one. On December 6 of 2001, I went to exchange a folder at Walmart for another same folder that I had bought the day before, which was $9 total.
They tried to get me to pay more for the new folder and I thought that was unacceptable. Therefore, I grabbed the folder I had already bought the day before, paid for the other things I had, and left Wal-Mart. This action caused me to be arrested and convicted of stealing from Wal-Mart. I never got a refund and they took the folder I had, meaning they stole the folder I bought from me. I have proof for all of this of course, but the court would not look at it. The corrupt prosecutor, Taylor Tucker, fought to keep me from presenting any proof I had.
I am in handcuffs in the back of a police car now and my wife thought the commotion was over so she drove away from the scene. I went along for the chase to where they caught her a little below Bakers on 15. Now, keep in mind I am still in handcuffs and still in the back of the police car. Keith Alexander, who is running for Sheriff, of the WCSD, and two other witnessing officers from the Louisville PD beat me.
I took a few hits to the head and I may have received a concussion, but no medical personnel was called. MHP, WCSD, and LPD were all there. In January, Keith put his hands on me yet again outside of the courthouse. He has bodycam footage of this and I filed charges, but the court let him off the hook. The court said there was not enough evidence to proceed. All these departments have body cams.
Where is the video from December 6th? Vote against Keith Alexander for Sheriff, the man does not deserve to be in law enforcement much less the Sheriff of our county. Other good options are running. If you have or know of someone that has had issues with this officer, please file a complaint with the Mississippi Attorney General's Office.
Only citizens standing together can prevent other incidents similar to the Memphis case from happening again. I look back at the Memphis case and think that I could have been beaten to death if they kept hitting me.
