THE CHALLENGE: Identify Yourself
Who am I? Really! Why am I here? Why do I feel like something is missing in my life? Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions? You are not alone. Many others have as well. Where can you find the answers? To answer these questions, let’s think about something. If you have a problem with your car and it’s a Cadillac, where do you take it? The correct answer would be to take it to the Cadillac dealership. The manufacturer, which would be Cadillac, knows all about the vehicle. It knows why and how it was designed. Each vehicle even has its own VIN# to show its uniqueness. The manufacturer knows the codes for the vehicle. It can detect and repair problems. So likewise, if you want to know answers to questions about yourself, you must go to your Manufacturer, Almighty God.
So let’s just review a few things that our Creator God has to say about you. First, He foreknew you. He’s not surprised by any of your mistakes, weaknesses, or shortcomings. He created a plan for your life before you ever lived a moment. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. He has invested special abilities in you that will help you fulfill the plan that He has for your life. Gideon, who was from a small tribe in Israel, found himself hiding from the enemy behind a winepress and afraid. However, God called him a mighty warrior and used him to defeat the enemy and deliver the people of God. God wasn’t sitting around somewhere nervous because Gideon was afraid. God foreknew Gideon.
If God foreknew me, why do I feel incomplete like something is missing? There is a part of man that only God can satisfy. You can try to fill that void with things, people, jobs, etc., but it will not work. Only in a right relationship with God through His Son Jesus will this fulfillment come. Simply confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus lived, died, was raised from the dead, and paid your sin debt. You will be spiritually born-again. Your natural self will not be able to comprehend this. Jesus told Nicodemus that “you must be born again.” God is spirit and they that worship Him, must worship in spirit and truth. Accept Jesus in your life and get to know the real you. THE CHALLENGE: Identify Yourself.
