Thanks all who supported Decade of ’60s Reunion
I can’t begin to thank you and the staff of The Webster Progress-Times for your publicity for the Decade of the ’60s Reunion.
Your help made this one of the most successful events in Eupora in a long time. Russell Hood was especially helpful with the articles and photos, and for this we are grateful.
There are so many to thank that I don’t want to miss anyone. The mayor of Eupora was most supportive of this event as was the superintendent of the Webster County School District. Special thanks to both of you for attending the reunion (on Sept. 17) and welcoming those who came back – many for the first time in over 50 years! What a day to remember.
Each class had a representative on the Planning Committee who worked tirelessly to make this such a success — from calling/writing classmates to simply encouraging their classmates to attend, it was a great success. Thanks, Planning Committee.
The food truck vendors, the hospital EMTs who came — all were a welcome part of this great day. The Eupora Police Department for patrolling the area and for making sure we had plenty of parking available.
The Alumni Association board of directors was instrumental in sponsoring this event — when it was first discussed early last year, there was much doubt as to whether we could pull it off. Well, after seeing everyone who turned out for the event, there is no doubt that these people love and support Eupora High School.
Finally, a team effort is what makes everything successful, and this is certainly an example of TEAMWORK! Now, as we move to the next project, working as a team, the EHS Alumni Association and the Webster County School Board along with members of Belinda Stewart’s staff are working to secure a grant that will paint the exterior of the historic school building and make much-needed repairs to the windows.
We ask that you join our TEAM EHS and send your donation to the EHS Alumni Association, P.O. Box 493, Eupora, MS 39744 to help TEAM EHS have the funds needed for the matching grant.
Again, TEAMWORK has brought us thus far — let’s see how far we can go as a team and restore and preserve the history of EHS for many years to come. Thanks again to everyone who came out for this grand event.
