The Winston County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on its proposed budget and proposed tax levies for the fiscal year 2022-2023 on August 29, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors room in the Winston County Annex in Louisville, Ms.
Winston County is now operating with a projected total budget revenue of $14,885,774. 32.60% or $4,852,136 of such revenue is obtained through ad valorem taxes. For the next fiscal year, the proposed budget has a total of projected revenue of$13,850,189. Of that amount, 35.70% or $4,948,136 is proposed to be financed through a total ad valorem tax levy.
For the next fiscal year, the Winston County Board of Supervisors plans to keep your ad
valorem millage rate at 46 mills, the same as last year. This means that you will pay the same ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag,
utilities, business fixtures, and equipment or rental real property unless your assessed value has changed.
Any citizen of Winston County is invited to attend this public hearing on the proposed budget and ad valorem tax millage rate and will be allowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken;
