PUBLIC NOTICE
OF INVITATION FOR BIDS
FOR HUNTING AND FISHING RIGHTS
Notice is hereby given by the Board of Education of the Webster County School District that sealed bids will be received by said Board until 10:00 A.M. on the 13th day of June, 2022, in the office of the Superintendent of Education of the Webster County School District, located at 95 Clark Avenue, Eupora, MS 39744, for a lease of hunting and fishing rights on the following described Sixteenth Section Public School Trust Lands situated in Webster County, Mississippi, to-wit:
Section 16, Township 20N, Range 9E approximately 635 acres
Section 16, Township 20N, Range 10E approximately 504 acres
Bids submitted will be opened at 10:00 A.M., or as soon thereafter as conveniently possible, on the 13th day of June, 2022. The lease shall be for a term of three (3) years. The form of the lease has been prescribed by the Board of Education and is now on file in the Office of the Superintendent of Education, and interested parties may inspect the same during regular office hours. A MINIMUM BID OF $4.00 PER ACRE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED. LESSEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PAYMENT OF ALL TAXES ON LEASED LAND.
Bids shall be submitted for the entire parcel. Only the annual rental shall be subject to bid. A certified check for the amount of the annual rental should be included with the bid when submitted. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Board of Education of the Webster County School District and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope “BID FOR HUNTING AND FISHING LEASE on approximately ____ acres in Section ____, Township ____, Range ____.” Individuals who have current hunting and fishing leases on the sections listed above will have the option to match any new higher bid in order to retain the lease for another 3 years. The Board of Education of Webster County School District will meet at Eupora, Mississippi on the 13th day of June, 2022, at 6:00 P.M. and sealed bids received pursuant to this public notice will be subject to approval. The Board of Education of the Webster County School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted, but if any bids are accepted, it will be in the manner prescribed by law.
The aforesaid land is being offered for lease under the provisions of Section 29-3-41 of the Mississippi Code Annotated (1972) as amended. Ordered by the Board of Education of the Webster County School District this the 11th day of April, 2022.
