The Town of Maben Mayor and Board of Aldermen will hold a public hearing on a proposed ad valorem tax revenue increase for fiscal year 2022-23 and on its proposed budget and proposed tax levies for fiscal year 2022-23 at 5:00 P.M. on September 6 and September 15, 2022, at the Town of Maben City Hall, 711 Second Avenue, in the Courtroom.
The Town of Maben is a two-county municipality to the counties of Oktibbeha and Webster. The present millage rate is 44.40. The breakdown is General Fund 38.28, Library 5.866 and Fire Department .25.
For the next fiscal year, The Town of Maben plans to increase your valorem tax millage rate by 2.00 mills from 44.40% to 46.40%. This increase means that you will pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tags, business fixtures and equipment and rental real property.
Any citizen of the Town of Maben is invited to attend this public hearing on the proposed budget and tax levies for fiscal year 2022-2023 and shall be allowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken.
A final decision on the proposed budget and tax levy shall be made on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at, 5 PM at said public hearing to be held in the Courtroom.
