DIRT WORK AT ACKERMAN SPORTSPLEX
The Town of Ackerman, MS will receive bids until 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2023 to cut and shift 31,000 yards of existing dirt and to import 15,000 yards of select fill dirt to bring the “NEW” Sportsplex to grade.
Bids sheets can be obtained at Town Hall between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday. CONTRACTOR LICENSE NUMBER IS REQUIRED.
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, or to accept any bids which is deemed most favorable to the Town of Ackerman. Bids will be received at Town Hall, 45 E. Main Street, Ackerman, MS 39735. Phone 662-285-6251.

At such hearing, the Town of Ackerman will consider whether your property is in a state of uncleanliness so as to be a menace to the public health and safety of the community pursuant to Section 21-19-11 of the Mississippi code of 1972.

UTILITY RELOCATION
Part 1: Water Main Relocation

Sealed bids will be received by the Town of Weir, Mississippi until 2:00PM on Friday, June 09, 2023 at the Town Hall in the Town of Weir, 360 Front Street, Weir, Mississippi 39772. All bids will be thereafter publicly opened for the construction of utility relocations, said project being named above.
The Work shall generally consist of the following:
Part 1: Water Main Relocation- 194 linear feet of 4” PVC water main, 76 linear feet of steel casing (bore and jack), necessary valves, fittings, and connections.
Part 2: Sanitary Sewer Relocation - Construct Sanitary Sewer Manhole, connection to existing gravity sewer collector, construct 103 linear feet of later service piping, connections to existing residential service lines.
Part 3: Natural Gas Main Relocation – Construct line stopper fitting, cut and cap existing steel main, construct necessary valves, fittings, and connections.
Contracts to construct each part (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) will be awarded.
The Owner (Town of Weir, MS) reserves the right to increase, decrease, or delete any pay item to as required to construct the project or to stay within the project budget.
Contract Time for each part (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) of the project is thirty-five (35) Working Days with a liquidated damages provision of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per Working Day thereafter.
The Awards, if made, will be made to the lowest and best qualified bidder on the basis of the published quantities.
Plans and specifications are on file in the Town Clerk’s Office and the Project Engineer's office. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the contract documents and specifications contained within the latest edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction.
PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be secured from Thomas M. (Marty) Crowder, P.E., Project Engineer, c/o Crowder Engineering & Surveying, Inc., P. O. Box 1209, Ackerman, MS 39735 (662-285-2062). The Cost is fifty dollars ($50.00) for printed plans and fifty dollars ($50.00) for the printed proposal, non-refundable. Plans and Proposals may also be downloaded electronically for a non-refundable fee of $25.00 by providing QuestCDN Project Number 8482747 on the Project Search Page on the Quest website www.questcdn.com.
A certified check or Bid Bond equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid, made payable to the Town of Weir, must accompany each Bid proposal.
All Bidders responding to this Advertisement for Bids must comply with all applicable requirements of Chapters 3 and 5 of Title 31 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, including, but not limited to, the requirements relative to holding a Certificate of Responsibility and payment of a special privilege tax; both items administered by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors.
All Bids received shall display the Bidder’s Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing the Bidder’s proposal.
The Successful Bidder must provide both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond (each in the amount of one hundred percent [100%] of the Contract) upon execution of the Contract.
No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within Sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
