The Louisville Lady Wildcats got out to a big lead against Kemper County early in the first inning with 10 runs, and was able to close the deal in the third and run rule the Lady Wildcats from DeKalb.
Avery Thompkins took the mound for the Lady Wildcats and pitched all three innings. Thompkins had three hits, five runs, five errors, two walks and two strikeouts. But the Wildcats from Kemper County couldn’t keep up with the Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Wildcats were strong at bat, with Jabrisha Davis pulling a homer for the Lady Wildcats. Davis, she also had four RBIs. Sakenya Glenn had five RBIs, three of them being doubles. MaKayli McWilliams had three RBIs, one of them being a double and Ker’rhianna Parker had two RBIs with one of hers being a double. Kaylee Parks and Re’niya Savior each had two RBIs and Kaylee Goss added a RBI as well.
The Lady Wildcats also saw hits from Mahogany Hoskin, along with several from Davis, Parker, Glenn, Goss, McWillians, Parks and Savior.
The Lady Wildcats then took on the Lady Cavaliers of Caledonia on Tuesday and Thursday as they open district play. They were on the road to Caledonia on Tuesday and on Thursday, the Lady Cavaliers returned to them on Thursday.
