The Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors had a busy week on the diamond with five games.
After a 14-13 loss to Lake on Monday, Nanih Waiya beat Winona 15-0 on Thursday. After an 11-1 loss to West Point on Friday, the Lady Warriors split a pair of games on Saturday, losing 9-4 to Starkville and beating Lake Cormorant 4-2.
Nanih Waiya was scheduled to play Eupora on Monday during spring break. They will return from spring break and begin division play with McAdams on Tuesday and Thursday.
Lake 14, Nanih Waiya 13
The Lady Hornets hit a walk-off three-run home run to take a one-run win over the Lady Warriors on Monday.
Nanih Waiya scored three in the first and two in the third to tie the game at 5-5. Nanih Waiya then scored three in the fifth, four in the sixth and one in the seventh and led 13-11. But the Lady Hornets scored three in the bottom of the seventh to take the win.
Nanih Waiya had 14 hits but committed seven errors. Adalynn Snow was 3-for-5 and scored three runs while Bria Gregory was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Jade Chandler was 2-for-4 with four RBIs while Addison Price was 2-for-5 with a double. Anna Grace Rigdon was also 2-for-4 while Madelyn Vick walked twice and scored three runs.
Price pitched a complete game for Nanih Waiya and gave up 14 runs on 18 hits.
Nanih Waiya 15, Winona 0
The Lady Warriors held the Lady Tigers hitless as they took a three-inning, run-rule win on Thursday.
Nanih Waiya scored two in the first, three in the second and 10 in the third.
The Lady Warriors had 15 hits in the contest, led by Bria Gregory who was 3-for-3 with a triple, home run, three runs scored and three RBIs. Adalynn Snow was 3-for-3 with three runs scored while Emmalena Cotton was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Addison Price was 2-for-2 while Jade Chandler was 2-for-3. Anna Grace Rigdon also doubled and drove in three runs.
Snow pitched all three innings and didn’t give up a hit or walk while striking out five.
West Point 11, Nanih Waiya 1
The Lady Wave scored the first 10 runs of the game and took a five-inning, run-rule win on Friday.
The Lady Warriors scored its only run in the fourth and had just four hits in the contest. Addison Price was 2-for-3 while Emmalena Cotton and Jade Chandler each had singles.
Price pitched the first three innings and gave up seven runs on five hits and three walks. Adalynn Snow pitched the last two innings and gave up three runs on two hits and two walks.
Starkville 9, Nanih Waiya 4
The Lady Warriors couldn’t hold onto an early lead and dropped a time-limit game to the Lady Yellowjackets.
Nanih Waiya scored two in the first and single runs in the third and fifth while Starkville scored three in the second, two in the third and four in the fourth.
Nanih Waiya had five hits as Adalynn Snow was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Anna Grace Rigdon was 2-for-3 while Emmalena Cotton singled, walked twice and scored two runs.
Addison Price pitched all four innings and gave up nine runs on four hits and two walks.
Nanih Waiya 4, Lake Cormorant 2
The Lady Warriors scored four in the first and held on to take a time-limit win on Saturday.
Nanih Waiya had 10 hits in the contest as Emmalena Cotton, Anna Grace Rigdon, Bria Gregory and Jade Chandler each had two hits in the contest.
Adalynn Snow pitched the first four innings and gave up two runs on seven hits while Addison Price got the last two outs to pick up the save.
