The Noxapater girls picked up a big division win last week over Ethel.
The Lady Tigers overcame a slow start and ran away with a 20-point win. The Lady Tigers also lost to Velma Jackson 38-22.
The Noxapater boys lost both games, falling 48-42 to Ethel and 65-22 to Velma Jackson.
Noxapater will return to action this week with a big division contest against rival Nanih Waiya on Tuesday.
Noxapater girls 44, Ethel 24
Noxapater overcame a slow start and took a 20-point win in division play last week.
Ethel led 10-7 at the end of the first before Noxapater took the second period 9-4 to lead 16-14 at the half. Noxapater continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Ethel 17-5 in the third and 11-5 in the fourth.
Kamera Carter led Noxapater with 13 points while Nadia Bates had eight points. RyDashia Riddle had six points while Bailey Priscock had five points.
Ethel boys 48, Noxapater 42
Ethel built an early lead and held off Noxapater to take a six-point win last week.
Ethel outscored Noxapater 11-9 in the first and second periods for a 22-18 halftime advantage. Ethel then outscored Noxapater 12-7 in the third to lead 34-25 going to the fourth. Noxapater took the fourth period 17-14 for the final margin.
A.J. Robertson and Renardo Hathorn each had nine points apiece while Ameir Vaughn had eight points. Jy Riddle and Jy’Tavious Riddle each had six points apiece.
Velma Jackson girls 38, Noxapater 22
The Lady Falcons built an early lead and took a 16-point win over the Lady Tigers.
Velma led 8-2 at the end of the first and then outscored Noxapater 10-5 in the second tooled 18-7 at the half. Each team scored nine points in the third while Velma outscored Noxapater 11-6 in the fourth for the final margin.
Bailey Priscock and Nadia Bates each had seven points apiece for the Lady Tigers.
Velma Jackson boys 65, Noxapater 22
The Falcons outscored the Tigers in every period and took a 43-point win on Thursday.
Velma Jackson dominated the first half and outscored Noxapater 25-6 in the first and 15-8 in the second to lead 40-14 at the half. Velma continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Noxapater 14-6 in the third and 11-2 in the fourth.
Camerion Pankey led Noxapater with 10 points while Renardo Hathorn had eight points.
