Greetings in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
His word says in Matthew 12:44-46, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
“Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.”
What have we been willing to give up for our Lord?
You know when Jesus called his disciples to come and follow him, the Word says they got up and followed him, leaving everything. The Lord is not telling us that we have to give up everything but he wants us to be willing to give it up.
The Lord wants us to have a pure heart with a pure love for him. Remember the rich man that came to Jesus in the 10th chapter of Mark? He wanted to know what he needed to do to inherit eternal life. He told Jesus that he had kept the commandments, but Jesus said, “Thou lackest one thing.” He knew that the man wasn’t willing to give up everything for the Lord.
Psalm 24:3, 4 says, “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
“He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”
If Jesus should come, are you ready?
