Louisville High School hosted its graduation ceremony on Friday, May 26, at the R.E. Hinze stadium. After the students marched in, a rousing rendition of the National Anthem was played by guitarist Chawan Jernigan.
The invocation was led by Ciarria King, and Principal Danya Turner would then welcome the parents and guests to the ceremony.
Salutatorian T’Mya Hamptom provided a speech during which she expressed her gratitude to the teachers and administrators for their part in her achievements. Hampton also expressed her love for her classmates, and she also provided advice for the underclassmen.
Hampton’s speech was then followed by that of Valedictorian Kristin Jernigan. She also gave praise to her teachers for their time, dedication and care. Jernigan also noted the influence of her family in her accomplishments.
LHS honored those students who earned one of three diploma endorsements. Thirty-nine students earned a Career/Technical endorsement, while 5 earned an academic endorsement. Another five earned a Distinguished Academic Diploma Endorsement.
Principal Danya Turner recognized the honor graduates (those earning a 90+ cumulative average). LHS seniors earned a total of 441 college credit hours.
