Polling places will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, for the primary runoff election in Choctaw County.
The only race on the Democratic ballot will be that for East Post Constable in the East Post polling places.
Deterron 'Ty' Hardin faces Lester Holidness.
All persons who voted on the Aug. 6 Democratic Ballot or persons who failed to vote August 6 who live in the East Post may vote in the Primary Runoff.
The Democratic nominee will take office in January since the winner will have no opponent in the November 5 general election.
Republican Ballot
Three runoffs in open races will be on the Republican ballot, including that for governor.
Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Bill Waller Jr. will face Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves in that race.
State Treasurer Lynn Fitch and Ridgeland attorney Andy Taggart will be in a runoff for attorney general.
John Caldwell of Nesbit and Geoffrey Yoste of Oxford will meet in a runoff election for Northern District transportation commissioner.
Absentee Voting
The last day to vote an in-office absentee ballot in the runoff election will be this Saturday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m.-noon at the Circuit Clerk's Office in the Winston County Courthouse in Louisville.
A person must vote in the same primary on Tuesday as they did on Aug. 6, or may vote in either if they did not vote at all on August 6. One must have been registered to vote as of July 29 to cast a ballot in the runoffs.
Any registered boter may vote in the November 5 General Election.
