The 39th Annual Red Hills Festival on Main Street in downtown Louisville is set for Memorial Day weekend Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25.
"We are excited to see the festival continue to grow and prosper each year," said Winston County Chamber director Amy Hillyer. "We have great entertainment lined up for Friday night and local entertainment Saturday during the festival," said Hillyer. "It will be fun for all ages!" she added.
The Friday Night Street Party will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Jason Turner and Chad Wesley will play at 8:00 p.m. Gregory's will be cooking crawfish and shrimp for the Street Party so come out and enjoy lots of fun, food and music.
The festival on Saturday will also feature a 5K/fun run, car show, carnival, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors and a stage full of all local entertainment, and much more. The carnival will be downtown starting Friday night and running through Saturday evening. Pony rides and inflatables for the kids will be available as well Saturday.
The 5k/fun run will kickoff at 7 a.m. with the 5k. The one mile fun run starts at 8 a.m.. The awards program begins at 10 a.m. 5k Entry fee is $25 prior to race day and $30 day of race. The Red Hills Car Show will be at the First Baptist Parking lot, where cars will be judged in more than 30 classes. The car show usually features about 100 vehicles. The Car show will be signup is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. with the judging from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Rotary Club of Louisville will be hosting train rides at the festival for children and "kids at heart".
