At approximately 8 p.m., Thursday, August 22, two juveniles, ages 12 and 13, were seriously injured in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Goss Rd and Minnie Miller Rd in the Highpoint Community. Both juveniles were airlifted to the University Medical Center in Jackson where they were in serious condition.
Two adult males, Justin White and Joe White, have been charged in the shootings with charges possibly to be filed against a third individual. Winston County Sheriff Jason Pugh stated that no motive has been given for the shootings. The two have been charged two counts of aggravated assault, drive-by-shooting, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. They are being held in the Winston Choctaw County Regional Correctional Facility.
