The filing deadline for county and state offices is approaching with those interested in running for office having no time to delay.
The filing period started January 2 and ends March 1 at 5 p.m. and prospective candidates are required to pay a $100 filing fee.
Incumbent Winston County Chancery Clerk Julie Cunningham is not seeking reelection and a future feature on the retiring circuit clerk will be in the Journal.
Party primaries are Aug. 6 with runoffs Aug. 27, if needed. The general election is Nov. 5. Polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m on election days.
Winston County Circuit Clerk Kim Ming noted here office is available for any voters' information needed.
Anyone with questions may or wishing to file for an office may contact the circuit clerk’s office.
