The Winston County Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program named its 2021 honoree saturday, Feb. 29.
Chloe Weeks earend the 2021 Winston County Distinguished Young Women Scholarship.
Weeks, a junior at Nanih Waiya Attendance Center is the daughter of Kevin and Twyla Weeks.
Weeks also earned The Be Your Best Self award, the interview award and the talent award. For her talent, she played the piano piece, “Whitewater Chopped Sticks” by Calvin Jones.
Bella Grace Hillyer earned First Alerternate award, the Fitness Award and the Alexis Grace Taylor Scholastic Award. She is the daughter of Matt and Amy Hillyer. She is a junior at Winston Academy.
Katie Lucas earned the Caroline Fair: Spirit of DYW award. She is a junior at Louisville High School. Her parents are Doug and Cindy Lucas.
This scholarship and honors program recognizes, rewards, and encourages excellence while promoting self-esteem among young women.
Weeks as the winner of the Winston County Distinguished Young Women title will go on to represent Winston County at the State program in July 2020 in Meridian, MS.
Should she win there, she will then travel to Mobile, Alabama as Mississippi's Distinguished Young Woman to compete at the national competition in June of 2021. The winner of the America's Distinguished Young Woman represents the program across the country during the next year.
