An investiture ceremony for new 6th District Chancellor Kiley Kirk was held Jan. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the Winston County Courthouse in Louisville.
Chancellor Joseph Kilgore administered the oath of office.
Judge Kirk is serving in the position formerly held by Chancellor Edward Fenwick. Judge Fenwick, who served since January 2007, retired Dec. 31, 2018.
The 6th Chancery District includes Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Kemper, Neshoba and Winston counties.
Judge Kirk previously served as Winston County prosecutor, Youth Court prosecutor and city of Noxapater prosecutor. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University and Mississippi College School of Law.
New judicial terms began on Jan. 1, 2019.
