In their meeting of Tuesday, August 20, the Louisville Board of Aldermen acted on a number of matters including the Louisville Community Saferoom Rental Agreement.
After some discussion the Board chose to table the agreement until a later date for further review of the agreement and other items.
The Board also voted to set a hearing date of September 17 on unclean properties a 109 Warner Ave, owned by Green Spring Properties, and 37 Spring Ave, owned by Jeremy & Karen Stewart, and 232 Northwood Dr, owned by Carolyn D. Roberson.
In other action, the Board:
• Voted 5-0 to authorize quarterly payments to The Policy Center for $14.6K, for the annual premium of $58.6K.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to T & T Specialty for $1.56K for spraying of cemetery.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize Small Town Conference registration and travel expenses.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize purchase of a 2009 Chevrolet truck from MS Forestry Commission for $100, for use by Louisville Fire Dept.
• Voted 5-0 to acknowledge receipt of an FAA AIP Grant in the amount of $162.5K for hangar improvements at the airport, and authorized Mayor Hill to sign the agreement.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize the Mayor to attend the ARC Conference in Ashville, NC on September 3-5 to receive a $2M grant.
• Voted 5-0 to accept a proposal from GSE for landfill drilling and monitoring well installation for $40.9K.
The Louisville Board of Aldermen meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
