The 2019 Choctaw County Christmas Parade was held Thursday, December 5 at 6 p.m. in downtown Ackerman.
The theme was Christmas Through the Decades.
The winners at the parade were:
Best Classic Car – Choctaw Cruisers: Bill Power – 1967 Pontiac GTO
Best Decorated Vehicle – 1st place: VFW Post 5569 – Terry Liddell
Best Decorated Vehicle – 2nd place: Liza & Company
Best Miscellaneous Entry – American Legion Post 82
Best School Entry – Choctaw County High School Band
Best Walking Entry – Elvis – Caleb Studdie
Float – Non-Religious – 1st place: Ackerman Elementary PTO
Float – Non-Religious – 2nd place: Choctaw Regional Medical Center
Float – Religious – 1st place: Ackerman Baptist Church
Float – Religious – 2nd place: Antioch Community Church
The Christmas fun started before the parade with Parade Day activities such as the Silent Auction, Santa’s Workshop and Entertainment.
Santa’s Workshop held at 3pm at Pap’s Place with Santa Claus himself. Santa’s Workshop featured three craft stations, two games, face painting and photos with Santa.
The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce was in charge of the parade.
