Pastor Derek May of Pine Forest Baptist Church states, “The Cross of Christ will represent and remind our area and communities to hold fast to the principles and core values that it symbolizes. The cross gives … comfort when we grieve, direction when we’re lost, conviction when we stray, love when there’s hostility, restoration when we’re broken, and eternal hope for our future!
“The roadside cross to me means that I can always remember that Jesus died on the cross for me and shed His blood for my sins,” as related by Pastor Jean Bingham and Co-Pastor Tonny Bingham of the Cathedral of Deliverance. “The roadside Cross of Christ is letting people know that our area and surrounding areas do serve, believe, and love Jesus. We cannot always witness to people, but just seeing the cross lets people know what Acts1:8 says about being a witness for Jesus Christ.”
Keneisha L. Mays of Gibson Street Church of God reflects, “To me The Cross of Christ would mean the town and area of which I was born and raised acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. When passersby come on Highway 82 or Highway 9 at the crossroads, they will know we have reverence for Jesus Christ.”
Julie Fulgham of Center Grove Baptist Church states from a recent sermon, “God doesn’t play with sin. … it cost God his Son! The Cross of Christ is a reminder of the sacrifice made for all by Jesus. He loved us enough before we even existed to die on that cross for us.”
Leadership volunteers for the Cross of Christ state how to be involved in the area roadside cross: Please volunteer, pray and give. Recently The Cross of Christ has added a PayPal link on Facebook. This was done via requests from viewers and followers of The Cross of Christ.
