The Eupora Lady Eagles picked up three more wins this past week and let a fourth one slip away.
After losing 13-12 to Amory on Tuesday, the Lady Eagles came back and beat Amory 5-0 on Thursday. Then on Saturday, the Lady Eagles hammered South Panola 20-0 and Cleveland Central 11-1.
Eupora will return to action this week when they host South Pontotoc on Tuesday and Grenada on Thursday.
Amory 13,
Eupora 12
The Lady Wolverines traveled to Amory on Tuesday and dropped their second game of the season.
Eupora was up 12-7 going into the sixth inning and gave up six runs to Amory, who held on for the victory on in the seventh.
“We had some defensive mistakes and I got really frustrated with them,” Hunt said. “We hit the ball well. Amory is a good 4A team. We have lost a game or two early that we shouldn’t have lost. It was the same thing against East Webster. We were ahead late and gave up runs late. We have had a chance to win all of the games we have played. We have to quit relying on our defense. We have to put both offense and defense together. We have to be more consistent at the plate.”
Haley Farley was 3-for-4 at the plate with two triples and a single while Alley Reed was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single. Meleah Pogue was 2-for-3 with a double and a single.

Amory 0
Two days after losing to Amory, the Lady Eagles came back and shut out the Lady Panthers on Thursday.
Hunt was quick to praise Kylie Richardson and Jameelah Marshall.
“So those two girls that I was aggravated with on Tuesday night came back and made play after play on Thursday night,” Hunt said. “It was a SportsCenter kind of night. I mean they made some amazing plays. They were diving for balls. I have seen good plays but never so many good plays in one game. They weren’t routine plays either, these were remarkable plays.”
Eupora only had four hits in the game but got the ones that counted, including a three-run home run by Allie Reed.
Eupora 20,
South Panola 0
The Lady Eagles were able to empty the bench as they pounded South Panola on Saturday at the Grenada Tournament.
“We got a chance to play a lot of kids against South Panola,” Hunt said. “if I get a chance to play those young kids, I’m going to get them in. I’m not scared to play those eighth graders. They have come a long way. They have worked hard and are getting better.”
The Lady Eagles took advantage of 13 walks in the contest as Maleigh Pogue was 2-for-2 with two singles.
