Youth 15 years and younger are invited to the annual fishing rodeo set for Legion State Park Saturday, April 28.
The event is free, and provides a good opportunity for young anglers to fish a lake that is well stocked with catfish which are typically easy to catch. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, catfish bait, and stringers. Families are invited to come enjoy quality time together in a safe environment.
The event is hosted by Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) in conjunction with the Friends of Legion State Park.
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with drawings and awards around 11 a.m.
Legion State Park is located two miles north of Louisville on North Columbus Ave.
