Sensory Garden Groundbreaking held at Nursing Center

On Monday morning, November 5 a groundbreaking ceremony for a sensory garden was held at the Choctaw Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Ackerman. Construction on the garden, which is being funded through donation and grants, is to begin within the next few weeks and weather permitting will be completed sometime in January.

Mixon named NMMC-Eupora administrator

Robin Mixon, FACHCA, has been named administrator of North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora. She had been serving in an interim capacity since May 1.
Mixon also serves as administrator of NMMC-Eupora’s long-term care facility. She was recently named a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators.

Unemployment rate decreases to 4.5 percent

Webster County’s unemployment rate decreased five-tenths of a percentage point to 4.5 percent in September.
The county’s jobless rate was 5 percent in August and 4.9 percent in September 2017. This September’s rate was the lowest recorded since that of 4.4 percent in March 2017.
