If you want to listen to some good music, then songs by Geowulf will fit the bill. Geowulf is what I call a dynamic dyad of musicians, Toma Banjanin and the lovely Star Kendrick, from Down Under. Geowulf was formed in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, almost five years ago. Since their inception, Geowulf has had two albums: “Great Big Blue, My Resignation” and an EP titled “Relapse.” Geowulf’s Saltwater will be playing in the background at Riley Richardson’s apartment in a future episode of the new Gospel-centered radio daytime drama “Our Lives on Earth” broadcast every Friday afternoon on East Miss. Community College’s radio station (92.7 FM) and Louisville’s WLSM (107.1 FM). Riley is portrayed by Mississippi State student Emily Hudgens of Madison. Saltwater softly playing adds to the ambience as Riley reveals a dish she calls “Riley’s Surprise” to Dave Carmichael, portrayed by Dr. Jimmy Richardson of Starkville. The dish symbolizes the uncertainties of a relationship between a 31-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man. 1. geo (GEE-oh) A. the earth B. a combining form C. ground, soil D. Kendricks wrote Saltwater (the first song she composed) while homesick in Sweden. She writes, “When I wrote the lyrics for Saltwater, I was in a strange place of trying to rationalize a broken heart but also trying to work out what I believed in and what I believe made me happy. I guess living in a Nordic country and missing home, the idea of the ocean felt like a good place to start?” The idea for the name Geowulf came from the Scandanavian hero Beowulf.
