The mission of the Cross of Christ roadside cross project is to be a visual reminder to residents and travelers of the loving sacrifice of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for all and for the hope we have in him.
The first theme of the Cross of Christ is salvation: the mercy, love and forgiveness poured out on those who believe in the saving sacrifice of Christ on the cross. Pamphlets that lay out the plan of salvation will be available at a kiosk near the cross. A list of churches in Choctaw, Webster and the surrounding area will be available also.
Second, a large American flag will be adjacent to the cross signifying God and Country. This flag near to the cross will resonate that as a nation, state and area, “In God We Trust.”
In this day and time when persecution is rampant in the world for those who express their faith in Christ, the Cross of Christ is an opportunity for those that are bold in their faith to proclaim God’s loving grace.
To donate to the Cross of Christ, boxes are located at various participating businesses, or you may give at local banks or churches. Also, you may mail your gift directly to – The Cross of Christ, P.O. Box 433, Eupora, MS 39744. All donations go 100 percent to the construction of the Cross of Christ.
