AEROPLANE COMING: Weather permitting, Aeroplane will be in Eupora October 5th between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
TOMNOLEN: Mrs. Carrie Biggers left last week for Ark., to visit her son Tommie. - Mrs. Haywood Hodges of Columbus attended the burial of her grandmother, Mrs. Woods, last Friday. - Mrs. Bob Staples of West Point was called here last week on account of the illness and death of her mother, Mrs. Woods. - Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Brown made a pleasant visit to Bennett Academy Saturday to see their daughter Creola.
EUPORA: Miss John L. Ingram is in the Columbus hospital with grip. - Mr. M. E. Moore of Bellefontaine leaves for Shaw this eve where he superintends a gin Company. - Miss Calhoun, Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey entertained the Dormitory boys and girls Saturday night. - Whittie Castle and Lloyd Fergerson left Monday for A. & M. where they will be in Military training.

EMBRY: Prayer meeting was held in the home of Mr. Bill Carroll’s Saturday night. - Mr. and Mrs. Carroll received a card that their son Wofford had arrived safely overseas.
This community was shocked Saturday with news that Marven Franklin was dead in Upton, N. Y. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Franklin and was of our very best young men. He was in his second year in Mississippi College when he was called into service, and going to Starkville took a special course of training after which he was transferred to Camp Forest where he remained until his Company started for France, but on his way was taken with pneumonia and succumbed after a few days. The remains reached Eupora Wednesday and the funeral service will be conducted today. Private Thomas F. Boken of Co. D. Medical Detachment Base Hospital Camp Upton accompanied the remains. Mr. Jonnie Franklin and family from Davis, Okla. and Mrs. L. C. Franklin from Clarksdale arrived here Tuesday for the funeral for their brother.
EUPORA: Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Wiggins left Tuesday for Oglethorpe, Ga. to see their son Dr. J. P. Wiggins, who is very ill. - Mr. C. L. Logan and family spent Sunday with his father J. E. Logan at Hohenlinden. - Dr. and Mrs. Kolb and little son John visited their father, Mr. Andrew Kolb of Dancy, last Sunday. - Born, to Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Black on Oct. 7th, a fine baby girl.
WALTHALL: Born, to Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Webb Oct. 7th, a fine baby boy. - Mrs. S. L. Cooke, who spent several weeks at Hot Spring, Ark. returned a few days ago greatly benefitted. - Miss Lera Middleton, who attended a business college in Memphis, is at home to the delight of her friends.
Mrs. Annie McKee, wife of Henry McKee, died at her home Saturday after an extended illness. She was one of our oldest and most esteemed women and leaves a husband and five children. Funeral services were conducted Sunday with burial in the Eupora cemetery.
